Lost things I couldn’t keep safe There’s a lot of weight on my shoulders Pick the strings and missed the whole idea Of what you wanted to hear Turn out the light, Turn over to think Saw the light of the street, it was the morning Old town stories Hold you for the night An empty glass a broken tissue Five claps and one CD sold Turn out the light, Turn over to think Saw the light of the street, it was the morning Caught by the coattails, caught by the coat Caught by the coattails You broke my fall...You broke it all

Saturday another day Wet towel cold floor Yet to feel like I needed someone...Yet to feel! Roll On, Roll On Roll, Roll, Roll, On, On This is our secret weapon No hidden meaning in the words It’s the luck of the draw... If it lands in your court! Roll On, Roll On Roll, Roll, Roll, On, On Too late, too late You’re way too late He said, she said Could be so easy Yet to feel like I needed someone Yet to feel, yet to feel, yet to feel

What runs through silently, its okay ‘cause I don’t give a damn Water trickles on down into open space, and things that happened we cannot discuss An inspiration, I can’t believe he just gives and gives Bedbound at an age younger than his mind can think If I proved it would you believe it? That flower on the wall ain’t no flower at all What have you done? What have you done lately? Whatever happens - you cannot discuss Whatever happens - you cannot discuss Whatever happens - you cannot discuss Whatever happens...

Leaning Tree 02:45
Imagine a starlit sky See the reflection Moonlight across the water Cuts through the ripples Hold it up to the window, then we’ll get a clearer picture History caught and capture, keep it held up forever Picture of a leaning tree Holding its own Against the ocean winds Deep rooted to hold on Hold it up to the window, then we’ll get a clearer picture History caught and captured, keep it held up forever Hold it up to the window - So on fire Then we’ll get a clearer picture - So on fire History caught and captured - So on fire Keep it held up forever - A future so on fire

about

Think Firehose recorded by Steve Albini, and if that sounds like too much of a flight of the imagination then be prepared for even more adventures off the beaten track offered by The Rooftop Gambler.

With stories that are magically wistful and intriguing, it’s like a heavenly slumber party under the influence of a full moon. The Rooftop Gambler is three men each on a personal quest – a quintessential quest to play and find their own sound. As such, each song almost embodies a permission to be free, a collection of stories with an unconventional patchwork of musical ideas. Never sure where the next step might take you, their songs tease your sense of anticipation to the edge of gentle torture only to then secure your complete forgiveness when all is finally revealed.

It’s clever, it’s captivating, and it keeps you on your toes - straining to look beyond the next line thinking you’ll know what comes next. But you won’t, it may echo familiar places but will make you see them differently, perhaps for the first time.
